Aged Inventory Fees

What Are Aged Inventory Fees?

For our top-selling Consignors, adjusting prices regularly means selling faster and at better margins. When items become aged, no one wins. That’s why we’re introducing a fee for older items – to encourage active inventory management and reduce how much time products spend sitting in the warehouse.

Statistically, 93% of products sell within 1 week when prices are dropped by 20% or more.

Beginning May 1st, items that have been in inventory for more than 180 days will need to be price dropped by at least 10% each month to avoid incurring a $2/month fee.

Here’s how it works:

  • The age of a product consigned with Stadium Goods is based on the date of initial intake.
  • You can check the status of your items through your StadiumSupply on the web or app.
  • On the first day of each month, you will be charged $2 per item for every item older than 180 days.
    • If you reduce the price of an aged product by at least 10% each month, then the fee is waived each month!
  • Fees will be visible in a new “Fees” filter on the sales screen.
  • Fees will be deducted from your next payout after the fee is charged.
  • As an enterprise level consignor, you may be eligible for preferential rates. Please contact your Account Manager directly for more information.

When you review your inventory through StadiumSupply, you’ll now see new filters to better understand your aged inventory and how you can drop prices and avoid fees each month.

Here are some frequently asked questions that you should know:

What is an Aged Inventory Fee?

Starting on May 1st, 2023, items that have been consigned with Stadium Goods that are older than 180 days from the day your item is accepted by Stadium Goods are subject to an Aged Inventory Fee of $2, per month, per item. Fees can be avoided by reducing the price of each item by at least 10% per item each month on aged items to increase the likelihood of selling. If you are an Enterprise seller, you may be eligible for preferential rates; please contact your Account Manager.

Why is there an Aged Inventory Fee?

When items become aged, it costs you and it costs Stadium Goods in terms of storage costs. That’s why we’re introducing a fee for older items – to encourage active inventory management and reduce how much time products spend sitting in the warehouse. Adjusting prices and ensuring that aged inventory sells will help ensure the best experience for our consignors and our customers.

How can I tell which items will incur a fee?

On your dashboard you will see a header called “Will Incur Aged Inventory Fee”. This will have a number associated with it, and that number represents the number of items that are eligible for an aged inventory fee that month.  When you click on the header you will be redirected to the price drop page with a “will incur fee” pre-selected for you.  From there, you will be able to manage your prices to avoid the fee.

When using the StadiumSupply App, on the inventory tab you will see a filter for “Will Incur Fee”. The number next to the label represents how many products are subject to the fee. Tap this filter to see each of your products that are subject to the fee. Each product that will incur a fee also has an icon next to age and a label displaying how much the price needs to be reduced by to avoid the fee.

How do I avoid the fee?

To avoid the fee you will need to drop your prices by at least 10% per item each month. On the price drops page we now display a button called “Drop To Avoid Fee” and show you the price you need to drop to avoid the upcoming fee. If you want to avoid the fee for all of your eligible products you can use the “Drop To Avoid Fee” button, which can be found under the aged inventory fee filter.

You may also use the “Adjust Prices (CSV)” feature on the price drop page to drop the prices of any or all of your products to avoid the fee.

When using the StadiumSupply app, each product that will incur a fee has a label displaying the amount you need to reduce the price by to avoid the fee. You can reduce the price by this amount or more.

When will the aged inventory fee be charged?

Fees will be charged on the 1st of every month. Charges will appear as AGED INVENTORY FEE on your sales and payouts page and will be deducted from your outstanding balance or next sale. To avoid the fee, price drops of 10% or more per item must be submitted prior to 5:00pm ET prior to the last day of the month.

How will I be charged?

After you are charged an aged inventory fee, the amount of the fee will be deducted from the proceeds of your account balance.

How can I see what I was charged?

On the sales page in your seller portal you will see a tab for FEES.  There you will be able to see what you are charged for. Click on view details to see which serials incurred the fee.

For the StadiumSupply app, on the sales screen there will be a section for FEES, where you will be able to see what you are charged for. Click on view details to see which serials incurred the fee.

Will you remind me of any upcoming charges?

Yes! We will send you a monthly email and notification letting you know of the upcoming Aged inventory Fee 3 days before the fee is charged.

Where can I see my aged inventory?

Aged inventory will be visible from your Dashboard, the Price Drops page (where you can filter to items that are aged and will incur a fee to action in bulk), and on the PDP (there’s a label noting that the item will incur a fee). You can see details of past aged inventory fees incurred on the Sales page.

Where can I drop the price on my aged inventory?

You can drop prices for aged inventory from the Price Drops page by filtering to items that will incur a fee this month. From there, you can click “Drop All To Avoid Fee” to lower the prices on aged items in bulk or “Drop to Avoid Fee” to drop the price on a single item.

Will all inventory be subject to an aged inventory fee?

There are few exemptions to the aged inventory fee.  Any items in the following category will not incur a fee:

  • Items marked as “In Review” on the charge date.
  • Items marked as “In Transit” on the charge date.
  • Select “Trophy Case” items.  These will be determined by Stadium Goods and are subject to change.
  • Items marked as “In Promotion” on the charge date will still be considered for an aged inventory fee.
