Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more interesting in sneakers, Nike is preparing to reintroduce the legendary Nike Kobe signature line ahead of the late, great Kobe Bryant’s birthday (August 23rd) and Mamba Day, which is celebrated by both Nike and fans of Kobe on a yearly basis on August 24th. The first release of the upcoming slate of Nike Kobe sneakers that we expect to do well for consignors is the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Halo” AKA “Triple White,” an angelic-looking colorway that celebrates Kobe’s birthday.

Rumored to be returning since last year, the Nike Kobe 8 was worn by Kobe during the first half of the 2011-2012 NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers, and was last released in 2016 as part of the “Fade to Black” pack that commemorated the Black Mamba’s retirement. The shoe’s extended absence has created a buzz for the “Triple White,” as has the fact that the Kobe 8 was recently worn by Ja Morant and Jordan Poole in the NBA.
Our Consignor Partners looking to make ample profits this fall should no doubt keep a close eye on the Nike Kobe collection. In addition to the super clean, super versatile, birthday-commemorating Nike Kobe 8 “Triple White” or “Halo” colorway, Nike Basketball is expected to release the Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch” and Kobe 4 Protro “Black/Metallic Gold” later in the year in December. Even more Nike Kobe models are rumored to be in the works for 2024.
