With the holiday shopping season just around the corner, it goes without saying that our Consignor Partners should be keeping a close eye on the sneakers that are reselling for serious coin right now in order to maximize their profits. One of those sneakers in particular is the new Stone Island x New Balance 991v2 “Black/Olive,” a collaboration by the popular Italian sportswear company on a brand new silhouette by the Boston footwear company. The attention the sneaker has been receiving has inspired us to dedicate this edition of Collaborators You Need to Know to Stone Island.

If you’ve been paying attention to the resale game, and sneaker culture in general this year, then you already know that New Balance has been on a roll for a minute now, which means that the New Balance 991v2 by Stone Island is definitely something resellers should have on their radar. But the new release isn’t the only shoe co-designed by Stone Island that resellers should be bringing to Stadium Goods on consignment.

Before the New Balance 991v2, Stone Island actually worked with New Balance on several occasions, including on a premium release of the always classic, always in-style New Balance 574 called the “Steel Blue.” The design features an ultra-wearable arrangement of ripstop and suede panels in colors like grey-blue and olive green. Stone Island’s signature “Compass” branding, an embroidered patch that is found on many of the brand’s pieces, which acts like a cultural signifier, appears on the tongue. As of this writing, pairs of Stone Island’s New Balance 574 are selling for $300 and above. Still have a pair? Bring them in!

Another Stone Island collaboration that has caught the attention of shoppers is the brand’s work on the New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2. The performance running sneaker was released in several colorways and was so popular that as of this writing, we only have a few sizes of different colorways of each model in our inventory. That’s as good of an indication as any that demand is high and supply is low for Stone Island’s New Balance collaborations.

Stone Island has also collaborated with other brands outside of the sneakers industry, including Supreme on numerous occasions. A quick search on our website reveals that there’s a demand for anything the two brands have released over the years based on the prices of those items.

Basically, anything Stone Island touches turns to gold. So to that we say, you’re going to want to pay attention to Stone Island’s work with New Balance, Supreme, and any other brand in the footwear or fashion world going forward.
